Marta became the best women soccer player for the fifth consecutive time. At a Cerimony in Zurich, Marta received the award for the best women soccer player of the year 2010.
If I don’t cry it will not be as good as the last times – said Marta at the stage.
Marta didn’t dispute many competitions in 2010, but she was the best in all of them. Playing with FC Gold Pride, she won the WPS (Women Professional Soccer), United States Women Soccer League. In addition to that, she was the top scorer and the best player in the tournment for the second straight year.
With the Brazilian national team, Marta was crucial in the perfect campaign to win the South American League, who assured one spot in the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2011, scoring nine goals in seven games.
When asked about the crying in the stage, Marta answered that she was amazed with the number of awards she received for her performance during the last few years:

The number 10 that reminded she could not speak English after receiving the award because of nervousness and that takes pride in making his victory speech in Portuguese. About fashionable clothes, Martha joked:
- I feel so good, but I feel even better because of his shoe and even there I command – laughed.
